Earthaus Fan Deck Guide
While the hue and tone of each Earthaus color are accurately represented in the Fan Deck, the swatches cannot capture how our unique lime finishes—each with distinct material composition, application techniques, and responsiveness to light—affect final color appearance.
To better understand how these variables may influence each finish, and how to best use the Fan Deck, please refer to the specific product information below. For the most accurate color selection, we strongly recommend viewing samples in the lighting conditions of your space.
Tadelakt Finish
How to Use the Fan Deck: Mid-range and darker colors in Tadelakt Finish will be slightly darker than Fan Deck colors.
Tadelakt finish is burnished, meaning the plaster is compressed and polished using Olive Oil Soap Sealer. The burnishing technique enhances the saturation of colors, especially noticeable in mid-range hues and darker shades, In contrast, lighter white and off-white colors are less affected.
Marble Finish
How to Use the Fan Deck: Mid-range and darker colors in Marble Finish will be slightly darker than Fan Deck colors. Movement and tonal variation are more pronounced as well.

Stone Finish
How to Use the Fan Deck: Colors in the Fan Deck will closely represent the color of Stone Finish
The Fan Deck is based on colors finished in Stone as it is our most popular finish. The standard Stone Finish is Olive Oil Soap Sealed but is not burnished. However, it can be burnished and if it is, the color may be darker.
Sand, Base, Lime Slurry, & Lime Stucco Finishes
How to use the Fan Deck: Colors in the Fan Deck will closely represent colors in Sand, Base, Lime Slurry, and Lime Stucco Fine & Coarse Finishes.
Standard Sand and Lime Stucco Finishes are unsealed and matte. When sealed, colors become slightly enhanced and more closely resemble the fan deck color.
Limewash Finish
How to Use the Fan Deck: Limewash Colors are brighter and more pastel than the representative colors in the Fan Deck.
Limewash Finish does not contain pumice and is pure lime which has several impacts on how true Fan Deck colors are:
1. Limewash is a brighter white base and therefore the pigments slightly pastel compared to plaster.
2. The pure lime in Limewash increases its ability to refract light. Lighter hues can get washed out more easily in brighter, eliminating the tonal variation and movement that is characteristic of Limewash.
